Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are essential fatty acids (EFAs) that contain a double bond on the third carbon atom, counting from the methyl end of the chain. Omega-3 acids include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), compounds found in foods mainly in fatty fish and shellfish.
Vitamin E, present in dietary supplements, contains a group of chemical compounds called tocopherols. The most biologically active form of this ingredient, used in OstroVit Omega 3 Easy to Swallow, is D-alpha-tocopherol. This substance can be obtained from the body through food (found in vegetable oils, hazelnuts or cereal seed germ), as well as in dietary supplements.
